Imran Ghazali served as the head of Delivering Accelerated Family Planning in Pakistan (DAFPAK) a UK based government family planning initiative under the Department for International Development (DFID). Besides this, Ghazali ensues vast experience in digital media including consultancy services for UNICEF and for Ministry of Climate Change for Clean Green Pakistan initiative.
After extensive interviews and assessments, Ghazali will be appointed as the Digital Media Head later this week. Sources claim, that the federal cabinet in March approved a supplementary grant of US $256,000 for the creation of Digital Media Wing in order to inculcate and counter fake news and propaganda relegating government’s repute on social media platforms.
Through this, the Digital Media Wing plans to help formulate policies and will also ensue an integral role to counter extraneous criticism pertaining to economic woes, electricity tariffs and overall complaints regarding their incompetence.
As a general manager, Ghazali will curate digital content for the government’s official social media assets and will also verify all social media accounts of federal government ministries to enhance digital presence.
Previously too, Ghazali worked as a founding member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf social media team. Also in 2013, he led the social media for a political campaign during the elections.
