National Technology Fund and JazzCash ink agreement to facilitate freelancers

IGNITE and JazzCash have inked an agreement to facilitate freelancers as this partnership will enable freelancers to transfer money from their Payoneer accounts into their JazzCash Mobile account in real time and at the best exchange rates.

Ignite (National Technology Fund) is a non-profit company owned by Pakistan government and administered by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.
Federal Minister Information Technology and Telecommunication, Syed Amin ul Haque said, “With the COVID-19 outbreak and overall economic situation, it is all more relevant that through this partnership, youth is provided with the right enablers to take up #freelancing from the comfort of their homes and become self-reliant.”

Pakistan is among the top five countries in the world when it comes to freelancing and generated a significant calculated amount of $0.5 billion entirely from freelancing. According to Erozgar programme of PITB. Pakistan is ranked as the fourth most popular country for freelancing in the Online Labor Index published in 2017 by Oxford Internet Institute (OII) and is consistently ranked among the top destinations for Internet Communications and Technology (ICT) outsourcing because of the exponential growth of the IT sector.

Ambassador of Egypt in Pakistan, Dr. Tariq also called on Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Syed Aminul Haq and had consensus to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of Information Technology and Telecommunication. IT Secretary, Shoaib Siddiqui briefed the Egyptian Ambassador on the ongoing and proposed projects of the Ministry of IT.
